2024 Wrapped

December 2024

What a year 2024 has been. One of huge change, reflections, and a foray into LinkedIn. I’ve even started to use a few AI tools.

So, here’s my 2024 #LinkedInRewind, courtesy of Coauthor.studio. It’s nailed it nicely.

“After 22 years of building Sellick Partnership, 2024 taught me that timing matters more than scale. Sometimes the bravest decision isn't starting something new - it's recognising when to start your next chapter.

The transition from founder to advisor through MJS Partnership has given me a unique perspective on our industry's evolution. Working with ambitious companies like Wallacespace while serving as an APSCo Trusted Advisor has reinforced what I've always believed: sustainable growth comes from balancing commercial ambition with genuine care for your people.

The year brought personal milestones too - watching Bella start at Nottingham University and Lottie ace her GCSEs. The trials and tribulations of Manchester United - and in the UK and US elections.

And between cricket matches with Ted, boxing, even finding time for fishing, I've learned that professional transitions work best when balanced with personal growth.

Looking ahead: 2025 brings unprecedented change for recruitment firms. Between AI integration, evolving employee rights, and economic uncertainty, leaders need experienced guidance more than ever. That's exactly where #MJSPartnership and my APSCO advisory work come in - helping CEOs and founders build sustainable growth while maintaining their values and culture.

To every entrepreneur considering their next move: trust your instincts on timing. The right moment to evolve isn't always obvious, but when you know, you know. 🎣”

So, to close the post and the year, I’d just like to send love and best wishes to my network. Thanks for all the messages, the comments, the invitations to connect, and the invitations for coffee. To many more in 2025, have a great Christmas and holiday period.

Jo
